wiki:remove_sophos_agent_without_tamper_password
  • Go in settings , Windows Update, Advanced Options, Recovery and In the Advanced startup part click Restart Now
  • While in the advanced startup options, select Troubleshoot, Advanced options and then, Command Prompt
  • If required, select Administrative account and enter password
  • In the command prompt type the following:
c:
cd c:\windows\system32\drivers
ren sophosed.sys sophosed.sys.old
exit
  • Continue with computer restart to get back in Windows
  • Once back in Windows, open the Registry
  • Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Sophos MCS Agent and set value of Start to 0x00000004
  • Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Sophos Endpoint Defense\TamperProtection\Services and under every subkey in this location, set the Value data of Protected to 0
  • Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Sophos Endpoint Defense\TamperProtection\Config and set the Value data of SEDEnabled to 0
  • Restart your computer and you should now be able to uninstall the Sophos agent through the Add Remove programms
