* Go in settings , Windows Update, Advanced Options, Recovery and In the Advanced startup part click Restart Now * While in the advanced startup options, select Troubleshoot, Advanced options and then, Command Prompt * If required, select Administrative account and enter password * In the command prompt type the following: c: cd c:\windows\system32\drivers ren sophosed.sys sophosed.sys.old exit * Continue with computer restart to get back in Windows * Once back in Windows, open the Registry * Go to //HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Sophos MCS Agent// and set value of **Start** to 0x00000004 * Go to //HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Sophos Endpoint Defense\TamperProtection\Services// and under every subkey in this location, set the Value data of **Protected** to 0 * Go to //HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Sophos Endpoint Defense\TamperProtection\Config// and set the Value data of **SEDEnabled** to 0 * Restart your computer and you should now be able to uninstall the Sophos agent through the Add Remove programms
